In September 1998 he was signed by Millwall and Tommy scored just 15 seconds into his youth team debut for the Lions in match against Arsenal. He progressed to the senior squad by the start of the 2000/01 campaign and made his first team debut as a substitute in a 2-1 win at Brighton in the League Cup on 22.8.00. Tommy replaced Neil Harris after only 23 minutes and future Everton star Tim Cahill was in the Millwall side that day. Over the next few weeks Tommy was a regular in the Lions matchday squad and he made five more substitute appearances, the last of them in a 2-0 home win over Ipswich in the League Cup on 19.9.00, before dropping back into the reserves.

Tommy joined Margate on trial in the summer of 2001 ahead of the club's first season in the Conference and on 1.8.01 he scored twice in a 6-3 friendly win at Deal. On 11.8.01 he wore the number ten shirt as Margate took on Worcester in the Southern League Championship Match at Hartsdown Park and Tommy scored on his debut as the game finished 1-1. He was Dover's joint leading scorer with 11 goals during the 2002/03 campaign and after adding eight more goals during the opening months of 2003/04 Tommy joined Welling on a free transfer in February 2004.
In May 2005 he returned to Dover on a two-year contract and Tommy scored eight goals from 34 Isthmian League Division 1 appearances (four as sub) during the 2005/06 season. He then got 17 goals during 2006/07 before joining Tonbridge in May 2007 on a one-year deal.
Tommy played 36 times (twice as sub) for the Angels in the Isthmian League Premier Division during 2007/08 and scored six goals. He stayed with the club for the 2008/09 campaign and scored once in 33 league appearances (nine as sub).
In June 2009 Tommy linked up with Isthmian League Premier Division newcomers Cray and made 27 league appearances (one as sub), scoring three goals. His tally included the winner as Cray won 1-0 at Margate on 31.8.09. Tommy left Cray at the end of the 2009/10 season.
After a spell out of the game he signed for Kent League club Sevenoaks in October 2010 but Tommy's stay there was very brief and he soon dropped out of senior football altogether.
