Oxford-born keeper who started his career with Isthmian League outfit Oxford City where he played in the first team as a 15 year-old during the 1965/66 season, making his debut in a 1-1 home draw with Barking on 4.12.65.

Tim then had a spell with Banbury in the Southern League before being signed by Newcastle. The 1st Division club loaned Tim to Southend during 1968/69 and in the summer of 1969 he joined Margate aged 19.

Tim unluckily picked up a leg injury in a friendly against West Ham on 26.7.69 and was out for six weeks as a result. The injury was unusual - he dislocated the tibia and fibula in his right leg and also tore ankle ligaments.

Tim finally made his competitive debut in a Kent Floodlight Cup tie at Ramsgate on 16.9.69. Margate lost 2-0 and the defeat could have been far worse but for a string of acrobatic saves from Tim. Unfortunately he then picked up a knee injury in a game at Yeovil four days later and spent another spell on the sidelines.

Tim returned to the first team during October 1969 and his performance in a 2-0 home win over Kettering on 25.10.69 led the Thanet Times to describe him as "a mixture of the very good and plain indifference". The paper then blamed Tim for three of Aldershot's goals as they won 7-2 in an FA Cup 1st Round tie at Hartsdown Park on 15.11.69. He was described as being "most uncertain with crosses" and soon found himself in the reserves. In December 1969 Tim left the club having made a total of eight first team appearances.

At the start of 1970, shortly after leaving Margate, Tim joined Australian club South Melbourne Hellas and his spell there also included the 1971, 1972 and 1973 seasons. Hellas won the Victorian State League Championship in 1972.

By 1994 Tim was back in the UK and living in the Oxford area and in 2004 he was living in the New Forest region of Hampshire.

In 2009 he was inducted into South Melbourne's 'Hall of Fame'.
