Winger who played in Erith & Belvedere's junior sides before being signed by Gillingham. Tayler became part of the Gills' youth academy and he was given a professional contract ahead of the 2008/09 campaign.
He played some reserve team games during the early part of the season but in October 2008 Tayler was loaned to Folkestone. He'd scored against them in a friendly in July 2008.
Tayler made his debut for Folkestone as they lost 3-1 to Cray at Bromley in the Isthmian League Division 1 South on 28.10.08 and he went on to score twice from a total of seven appearances (one as sub) before going back to Gillingham in December 2008.
In February 2009 the Gills loaned Tayler to Southern League Premier Division club Halesowen for the remainder of the 2008/09 campaign and he played alongside former Margate striker Richard Shittu there. Tayler was released by Gillingham at the end of the season.
During the 2009/10 campaign he played three times (twice as sub) for Isthmian League Division 1 North outfit Tilbury but Tayler spent most of the season without a club.
In the summer of 2010 he joined Chelmsford of the Conference South but Tayler didn't feature in their first team before being released in October 2010.
He resurfaced in March 2011 when he signed for Tooting & Mitcham and Tayler made two senior appearances (one as sub) there before the end of the 2010/11 campaign.
After featuring in some of Tooting's friendlies in the summer of 2011 Tayler joined Billericay shortly before the start of the 2011/12 season and he made his debut as a substitute in a 2-1 defeat at Lewes in the Isthmian League Premier Division on 27.8.11. He only made one more sub appearance before leaving the club.
In November 2011 Tayler signed for Margate and after a lengthy spell as an unused substitute he finally made his debut when he came off the bench in injury time of a 2-0 defeat at Leatherhead on 31.1.12. On 25.2.12 he played a full 90 minutes for the reserves in a 1-1 draw at Deal but Tayler's only other first team outing was as a late substitute in a 1-0 win over Harrow in an Isthmian League Premier Division game at Hartsdown Park on 13.3.12. He left the club at the end of the season.
In the summer of 2012 Tayler featured in numerous friendlies for Dulwich and on 5.8.12 he scored twice in a 10-0 win over Belgian club RFC Temploux-Suarlee. He was signed on for the 2012/13 campaign but only played twice for Dulwich during the season. Tayler made his debut as a substitute in a London Senior Cup tie against visitors Erith Town on 6.11.12 and scored in a 5-0 win whilst his other appearance was also as a sub in a London Senior Cup tie that Dulwich lost 4-2 at home to Kingstonian on 14.3.13.
In June 2013 Tayler joined Isthmian League Division 1 North newcomers Erith & Belvedere - the club where he'd started his career.
