Dartford-born midfielder who joined Thanet United from Gravesend & Northfleet in the summer of 1982 due to being a close friend of United captain Alan Fagan.
Bizarrely Steve made his United debut as a goalkeeper in a Southern League Cup tie at Crawley on 24.8.82. Neither first-choice Craig Godden or reserve keeper Matt Gilbert were available so Steve donned the gloves and Thanet lost 4-0.
He went on to make a total of eight appearances (one as sub) before leaving the club in October 1982.
In 2011 Steve was living in Gravesend.
