Local defender who played for Margate's reserves as 16 year-old during the 1980/81 season and later returned to Hartsdown Park to play for Thanet United's second string. Steve turned out for them during the 1983/84 campaign.
In 1987 Steve joined Ramsgate from local amateur football and in the summer of 1989 he returned to Margate to captain the reserves under future Rams manager Jimmy Ward. He was a fixture in their side during 1989/90, making 34 appearances and scoring once as they won the Kent League Division 2 title.
Steve also played twice for the first team, making his debut at right-back in a 1-1 draw at home to Burnham on 10.10.89. On 19.12.89 he came on as a substitute as Margate went down 3-1 to Dartford in a Southern League Cup tie at Hartsdown.
Steve was the reserves' 'Players Player of the Year' for the season but at the end of the campaign he left the club.
He rejoined Ramsgate for 1990/91 and became a regular in the Rams' first team. Steve was sent off for them in a game at Met Police during October 1990.
In the summer of 1991 he joined Kent County League side Phoenix Rovers but went back to Ramsgate for 1992/93.
He played the last football of his career during the mid-late 1990's when he turned out for Thanet League club Margate Athletic Old Boys whose squad of veterans also included a host of other former Margate / Thanet players.
Steve worked as a Civil Engineer during his time with Margate.
