Youth team player who made a one-off appearance for the senior side when he came on as a substitute for Vic Pain during a 1-0 win over Bridgend Town at Hartsdown on 7.5.79. He'd previously been an unused substitute for a game against Wealdstone on 28.4.79.
Steve left the club at the end of the season and later had a short spell with Ramsgate during the 1980/81 campaign before dropping into local football for the 1981/82 season.
Steve later had a long association with Ramsgate's youth sides and by the 2008/09 campaign he was manager of the club's Under-14's. Towards the end of that season Steve sadly suffered a heart attack and stroke whilst in Spain for a youth tournament and in August 2009 two benefit games were played at Southwood for him.
