Powerful midfielder who had a trial with Leyton Orient in September 2009 where he played once for the reserves as they lost 4-1 at Gillingham. Samson was substituted at half-time in a game where former Margate loanee Jacob Erskine scored twice for the Gills.
Samson also had a brief trial with Crewe before joining Margate in October 2009.
He made his debut as a substitute in an FA Trophy tie at Wealdstone on 17.10.09 and Samson made a dramatic impact by scoring with his very first touch, picking up a Joe Healy pass and beating the keeper with a first-time shot from the edge of the penalty area. Margate lost the game 3-1.
He then featured again as a sub in a 2-1 defeat at Hastings in the Isthmian League Premier Division on 7.11.09 but it was Samson's only other appearance.
In December 2009 he joined Southern League Division 1 Midlands outfit Burnham and Samson made his debut in a 4-0 defeat at Hitchin on 12.12.09 but it was his only senior outing for the club. He spent the remainder of the 2009/10 season in Burnham's reserves.
In the summer of 2010 Samson featured in two friendlies for Margate but he wasn't offered terms and instead started the 2010/11 campaign proper with Mountnessing of the Essex Olympian Football League Premier Division.
Mountnessing changed their name to Harold Hill ahead of 2011/12 and Samson stayed with the club until the end of that season.
In the summer of 2012 he moved on to Buckhurst Hill, also of the Essex Olympian Football League.
