Burly centre-forward born in Southwark who represented South London Schools as a youth. Ronnie started his senior career with Kent League Beckenham before stepping up to join Isthmian League Bromley for the 1981/82 season.
Ronnie moved on to Tooting & Mitcham for the start of the 1983/84 campaign and scored three goals in 13 appearances for them during the early months of the season. One of the goals came in a 7-0 win against Thanet United at Hartsdown Park on 1.10.83.
In November 1983 Ronnie was signed by Fisher and he went on to spend almost three years with the Dockers before rejoining Bromley in the summer of 1986.
During the 1987/88 campaign Ronnie scored 25 goals for Bromley and he stayed with the club for the 1988/89 season although he spent the early part of 1989 in New Zealand playing for Blockhouse Bay.
In the summer of 1989 Ronnie joined Margate, along with many of his former Bromley team-mates, and scored on his debut as Margate beat Ramsgate 3-1 in the annual Isle of Thanet Gazette Cup game at Hartsdown on 15.8.89. He then played regularly but struggled for goals initially and on 9.9.89 Ronnie missed a 2-1 defeat at Salisbury after his car broke down on the motorway. After a run of six games without a goal he finally found the net again in a 2-0 win at Corinthian on 26.9.89 and during October 1989 Ronnie really ran into form. In a run of five games from 7.10.89 to 21.10.89 inclusive Ronnie scored four goals, including two in a 3-0 win over Andover at Hartsdown on 7.10.89. The first of them was a thumping shot on the turn. On 14.11.89 Ronnie scored with what the Gazette called a "superb header" as Margate drew 1-1 at home to Canterbury in a Kent Senior Cup tie and on 6.12.89 he was on target in a 2-2 draw with Dover in a Southern League Cup game at Hartsdown. It turned out to be Ronnie's last goal for the club as a few days later - on 9.12.89 - he suffered a serious knee injury in a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Salisbury that kept him out of action for almost five months.
Ronnie returned to the side for the final three games of the 1989/90 campaign, coming on as a substitute in home games against Trowbridge and Corinthian on 28.4.90 and 1.5.90 respectively before starting the match at Fareham on 5.5.90. Clearly still struggling with his knee problem, he had to be replaced early in the second half as Margate went down 2-1 and it was Ronnie's final game for the club. He'd scored eight goals in 30 appearances (three as sub) during the season.
Ronnie joined Tonbridge for the start of the 1990/91 campaign, initially on loan from Margate, and scored once in ten appearances (three as sub) for them before moving on to Dulwich in November 1990.
He scored 11 goals for Dulwich before the end of 1990/91 - including four, all with his head, in a 9-0 win over Worthing in December 1990 - and stayed at the club until the end of the 1991/92 season.
Ronnie worked as a glazier during his time with Margate and in 2005 he was living and working in London.
