Strong, fast 6' 0" tall centre-forward born in Devonport, Plymouth whose younger brother Arthur also played for Margate.
Reg served in the army during World War II and was part of a unique family feat when he, Arthur, another brother Vic and their father Edwin were all Physical Training Instructors in the PT Core at the same time.
Reg joined Margate for the 1946/47 season and played regularly for the reserves. He also made a single first team appearance, wearing the number nine shirt in a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Lloyds Paper Mills at Hartsdown Park on 14.9.46.
He later had a spell with Faversham that included the 1950/51 season. Reg mostly played in the reserves there.
He also played for local amateur club Thanet Press and turned out for their veterans side in a charity match at The Royal School for the Deaf in Margate in March 1959.
Reg was a policeman during his time with Margate.
He died in Plymouth on 20.5.96 aged 79.
