6' 1" tall versatile player born in St.Ives, Cambridgeshire who started his career with Cambridge United before moving to Southend in March 1969. Peter then joined Margate on loan in February 1970.
He made his debut on 23.2.70 and scored as Margate won 4-0 at Ashford in the Kent Floodlight Cup. The local paper said that Peter put in "a useful display" in midfield. He went on to make a total of 27 appearances before the end of the 1969/70 season, usually playing in midfield but also turning out up front and as a centre-back on occasions. Peter impressed with his hard work and intelligent play. He scored six goals, including a 25 yard strike in a 6-0 win over Folkestone on 25.3.70, before leaving the club in the summer of 1970.
Peter joined King's Lynn for the 1970/71 campaign and then linked up with Romford towards the end of 1971/72. He was still with the club during the 1974/75 season and by the end of the campaign Peter had made well over 100 appearances for Romford.
