6' 3" tall product of local football who began his career in Thanet's amateur leagues as a teenager during the 1978/79 season.
Peter then joined Ramsgate for the 1980/81 campaign and played regularly in their first team, despite still being at school. Early in 1981 he moved across Thanet to join Margate, initially playing for the reserves.
On 8.4.81 Peter made his first team debut when he came on as a substitute during a 1-1 draw at Fareham. His full debut followed on 18.4.81 and Peter marked the occasion with a goal in a 2-1 win at Folkestone. He impressed with a battling display up front and scored again after coming on as a substitute in a 5-2 defeat at home to Poole on 4.5.81. The goal was significant as it was the last scored by Margate before the name change to Thanet United and Peter finished the season having made five appearances, two of them as a substitute.
He began the 1981/82 campaign in Thanet's first team and Peter's early appearances were divided between attack and defence. However at the end of September he went off to university and only played a handful of games after that. By the end of the season he'd made 14 appearances (one as sub), the last of them in a 1-1 draw at Basingstoke on 17.4.82. Peter scored twice during the campaign - in a 6-1 defeat at Wealdstone on 15.9.81 and in a 3-1 defeat at Gosport on 13.4.82. He left the club at the end of the season after Thanet had finished bottom of the Southern League Southern Division.
Peter later became a doctor and in 2011 he was living and practising in Ruthin, North Wales. At that time he was also playing for village side Llanfair in the Llandyrnog and District Summer League. Peter was 49 by then.
