Chirpy left-footed midfielder who started his career with Sheppey, making his first team debut as a teenager during the 1986/87 season. On 26.12.87 Peter scored for the Islanders in a 2-1 home defeat against Thanet United.
Towards the end of 1987/88 he moved on to Chatham and Peter then linked up with Ashford for the 1988/89 campaign.
He made 48 Southern League appearances for the Nuts & Bolts before leaving the club in March 1990 to play in Sweden.
Peter returned to England early in the 1990/91 season and had a short spell with Dover before linking up with Chelmsford.
In September 1991 he returned to Kent, joining Hythe. On 1.1.92 he showed his sense of humour when he ran out for Hythe's home game against Margate wearing a 'Max Wall' wig.
In February 1992 Peter signed for Margate and made his debut in midfield in a 5-1 defeat at Salisbury on 15.2.92. From then on he was a fixture in the side, always wearing the number seven shirt. The Thanet Times reported that Peter "often took the eye" in a 3-1 win at Andover on 22.2.92 and said he was "a dynamo in midfield" as Margate thrashed Erith & Belvedere 5-0 at Hartsdown Park on 29.2.92. He finished the 1991/92 season having made 13 appearances without scoring.
Peter started the 1992/93 campaign as an automatic choice in Margate's midfield, playing on both flanks as well as in a central role. The Thanet Times said that his "brave running often merited better reward" during a 4-1 home defeat against Chertsey in the FA Cup on 26.9.92 and on 24.10.92 Peter scored his first goal for Margate in a 5-2 defeat against Braintree at Hartsdown. It turned out to be his only goal for the club as after playing in a 2-1 home defeat against Wealdstone on 7.11.92 Peter left Margate and joined Tonbridge having made 20 appearances (two as sub) during the season.
He went on to make 26 appearances without scoring for Tonbridge during the remainder of 1992/93 and Peter stayed with the Angels until the end of 1995/96.
He started the 1996/97 season with Chatham before moving on to Whitstable in March 1997 and Peter then returned to his first club Sheppey in the summer of 1997.
His next move took him to Sittingbourne for the start of the 1998/99 campaign and Peter scored once in 14 appearances for the Brickies (eight as sub) before returning to Sheppey before the end of the season.
After a lengthy spell out of senior football Peter signed for Kent League club Herne Bay in December 2004 and stayed with the club until midway through the 2005/06 season when he retired from senior football.
During the 2009/10 campaign Peter played for Medway-based Kent County League club Bredhurst Juniors and after not featuring at all during 2010/11 he made a few appearances during the 2011/12 season. He was 43 by then.
