London-born player who started his career with Wimbledon and scored once in six appearances for the Dons during the early part of the 1954/55 season.
Norman later moved to Crystal Palace where he spent the 1957/58 campaign before moving to Dartford in the summer of 1958.
Later in the 1958/59 season Norman joined Tonbridge before being signed by Queens Park Rangers in August 1959. He made 31 first team appearances for Rangers during 1959/60 & 1960/61 and scored six times.
After being released by QPR Norman joined Kettering Town where he spent the 1961/62 campaign.
In the summer of 1962 Norman joined Gravesend & Northfleet and he went on to make 29 appearances for the Fleet during the first half of the 1962/63 season, scoring four goals, before linking up with Yiewsley in February 1963. Norman made 19 appearances for Yiewsley and scored four goals before joining Margate in October 1963.
He made his debut in a 2-0 win over Hastings in a Southern League game at Hartsdown Park on 12.10.63 and went on to make 26 appearances during the remainder of the 1963/64 season. Norman scored four times but he was released at the end of the campaign.
Norman later played for Cray, joining them towards the end of the 1964/65 season. During 1965/66 he was a regular as the club won the Greater London League championship and League Cup.
Norman became Cray's player-manager during the 1966/67 campaign and guided the team to club record runs in the FA Cup (3rd Qualifying Round) and FA Amateur Cup (3rd Round - last sixteen). He stepped down from the job at the end of the 1969/70 season and retired from football to concentrate on the pub trade.
Norman worked for brewery firm Young's for over 35 years and ran the Duke's Head pub in Putney, London with his wife until retiring in the early 2000's. He'd worked at a printers during his time with Margate.
