Battling Dartford-born midfielder who progressed through his hometown club's youth ranks. Nick made his first team debut for the Darts in a 3-2 home win over Burnham on 30.10.99 and then scored in his next outing on 3.11.99 as Dartford thrashed Sittingbourne 6-0 in a Kent Senior Cup tie. He played at right-back in that game.

Nick moved on to Tonbridge during 2001/02 and made five senior appearances (two as sub) without scoring before the end of the campaign. He went on to make a further 71 first team appearances (eight as sub) and scored 14 goals for the Angels during 2002/03 and the first half of 2003/04 before joining Fisher during the latter season.

Nick started 2004/05 with Kent League club Maidstone but early in 2005 he returned to Tonbridge where he scored once from 13 outings before the end of the campaign.

Nick also spent 2005/06 with the Angels and scored eight goals from 40 appearances (six as sub) during the season.

In the summer of 2006 he featured in some of Ramsgate's friendlies but Nick ended up starting 2006/07 back at Maidstone, his second spell there.

In November 2006 he rejoined his first club Dartford shortly before their new Princes Park stadium opened but Nick only spent a few weeks back with the Darts before starting a third spell at Tonbridge in December 2006.

He scored once from 20 outings for the Angels during the remainder of 2006/07 but left the club once more when the season ended.

The summer of 2007 saw Nick back at Ramsgate for a short spell and at the end of July 2007 the Rams' manager Jimmy Ward told the Isle of Thanet Gazette "Nick's on trial here for a fortnight and I've told him I want to see what his character's like. Sooner or later the penny will drop that he needs to settle down and, who knows, that might be with us."

Once again Nick left Ramsgate before the start of the season proper and he opted to join Ashford where he made 21 Isthmian League Division 1 South appearances without scoring before going back to Dartford again in March 2008.

It was Nick's third stint with the Darts and he helped the club to win the Isthmian League Division 1 North title a few weeks later. He started 2008/09 with Dartford too and played 13 times (six as sub) without scoring before signing for Concord Rangers in November 2008.

Nick spent a few months with the Essex outfit and played 17 times (once as sub) in the Isthmian League Division 1 North, scoring once.

In March 2009 he moved on to East Thurrock, also of Division 1 North, and finished 2008/09 there, making six league appearances without scoring.

In the summer of 2009 Nick rejoined Maidstone - his third spell with the club - and made 19 Isthmian League Premier Division appearances (two as sub) without scoring before signing for Margate at the start of March 2010.

He made his debut in midfield in a 3-0 home defeat against his old club Tonbridge in the Isthmian League Premier Division on 2.3.10 and Nick then started each of Margate's next five matches. After he'd featured in a 2-1 win over Tooting & Mitcham at Hartsdown Park on 9.3.10 Nick was troubled by a hamstring problem but manager Iain O'Connell told the Isle of Thanet Gazette "Barnsey has a tight hamstring but it would need someone to shoot him to stop him playing. He's an old-school player who doesn't want to miss anything."

On 13.3.10 Nick scored his first goal when he fired home a penalty in a 2-1 win at Billericay but after a 1-1 home draw with Carshalton on 20.3.10 he missed four games due to his hamstring injury.

Nick returned to action as a substitute in a 1-1 draw with Bognor Regis at Hartsdown Park on 3.4.10 and then started each of Margate's last five games of the campaign. He again struck from the penalty spot in a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Aveley at Hartsdown Park on 10.4.10 and Nick's final outing was in a 1-0 home win over Hastings on 24.4.10. In all he scored twice from 12 appearances (one as sub) and Nick then left the club at the end of the season as Margate avoided relegation despite finishing in the drop zone.

In the summer of 2010 he played in some of Croydon Athletic's friendlies but Nick moved on to Walton & Hersham in time for the start of the 2010/11 campaign proper.

On 21.8.10 he scored on his debut as the Swans beat visitors Ramsgate 3-0 in the Isthmian League Division 1 South but Nick only played seven more games for Walton & Hersham before joining Hastings at the start of October 2010.

He made nine Isthmian League Premier Division appearances for Hastings without scoring over the course of the next few weeks but towards the end of December 2010 Nick signed for Kent League club Hythe, shortly after a proposed move to Folkestone had fallen through.

He helped Hythe to win the Kent League title during the remainder of 2010/11 and Nick stayed with the club for their first Isthmian League Division 1 South campaign. He scored twice from 36 league outings during 2011/12 and also featured for Hythe during the 2012/13 season, making 19 league appearances and scoring three times.

Nick stayed with Hythe for the start of the 2013/14 campaign too but only played seven times (four as sub) without scoring during the first half of the season before moving on to Erith & Belvedere of Division 1 North in January 2014.
