5' 7" midfielder born in Beverley, Yorkshire who later moved to Thanet and played for Kent as a schoolboy.
Neil also featured in Ramsgate's junior sides from 2001/02 onwards and spent several seasons at Southwood where he progressed through the youth ranks. During the 2005/06 campaign Neil played in the Rams' Under-18's and reserve sides.
In the summer of 2006 he joined Margate and Neil played in three pre-season friendlies before becoming a regular in the reserves. On 12.9.06 he made his first team debut as a substitute in a 2-0 defeat at Ramsgate in the Isthmian League Cup and Neil also came on as a sub in a 2-1 win at Whitstable in the FA Cup on 30.9.06.
On 8.11.06 he made his first start in a 1-0 defeat at VCD in the Kent Senior Cup but that was Neil's last senior appearance and he returned to the reserves for the remainder of the season.
Neil carried on playing for the reserves during the 2007/08 campaign but later left the Thanet area before returning and playing local amateur football.
During the 2009/10 season he rejoined Ramsgate where he played a few games for the reserves before leaving the club once more. Neil was a Quantity Surveyor by then.
He resurfaced in Ramsgate's reserves at the start of 2011/12 and also played locally for Generation Sports in the Thanet Sunday Football League during the campaign.
Neil was still playing locally during 2013/14.
