Powerful defender born in Waltham Forest who started his career with Conference club Dagenham & Redbridge. Michael made his first team debut during the first half of the 2006/07 campaign and in January 2007 he was loaned to Aveley.

He scored once from 11 Isthmian League Division 1 North outings (one as sub) for the Millers before returning to Dagenham at the end of the season. The club had just won promotion to the Football League.

At the start of the 2007/08 campaign Michael had a loan spell with Division 1 North club Potters Bar and shortly after returning to the Daggers in December 2007 he was farmed out again, linking up with Billericay in January 2008.

Michael made 22 appearances (one as sub) without scoring for Ricay in the Isthmian League Premier Division during the remainder of the season.

In August 2008 he was loaned to Conference South outfit Fisher for a month and Michael made three appearances for them before briefly going back to Dagenham.

In October 2008 he started the fifth loan spell of his Daggers career when he joined Bishop's Stortford and Michael made four appearances in the Conference South during his time there before going back to the Daggers in November 2008.

In December 2008 he was loaned to Division 1 North club Witham and Michael went on to feature in 16 league games there up to February 2009. He scored twice and both his goals came in a 2-2 draw at Concord Rangers on 3.1.09.

Immediately after his stint at Witham ended Michael was loaned to Billericay once again and he made 16 Premier Division appearances without scoring before the end of the 2008/09 campaign. On 28.3.09 he headed an own goal as Ricay lost 3-1 at Margate.

Michael was released by Dagenham & Redbridge at the end of 2008/09 and in July 2009 he featured in some friendlies for Chelmsford before signing for Premier Division newcomers Aveley in August 2009.

His second spell with the Millers saw him make 35 league appearances (one as sub) without scoring during the 2009/10 season.

In June 2010 Michael moved on to Conference South outfit Braintree and towards the end of 2010 they loaned him to Concord where he played twice in the Premier Division.

In February 2011 Michael joined Canvey Island from Braintree under a dual-registration agreement and he made 15 Premier Division appearances (five as sub) for them without scoring up to the end of 2010/11.

Michael's move was made permanent in July 2011 and he played 40 times (four as sub) in all competitions without scoring for Canvey during 2011/12. In April 2012 he was part of the side that won the Essex Senior Cup by beating Colchester 1-0.

In August 2012 Michael joined Margate on a non-contract basis and his signing was only revealed by the club several weeks after Canvey and Michael himself had both announced the move.

He made his debut as a substitute in a 2-1 win over Lowestoft in the Isthmian League Premier Division at Hartsdown Park on 27.8.11 and after one more outing from the bench Michael made his first start at centre-back in a 2-2 draw at Faversham in the FA Cup on 8.9.12. He then started each of Margate's next five matches and after a 2-0 home win over Enfield Town on 15.9.12 manager Chris Kinnear told the Isle of Thanet Gazette "Michael has come in for the injured Laurence Ball and done a great job at centre-back." The Gazette described Michael as "ever-improving" in its report on a 4-1 win at Aveley in the FA Cup on 22.9.12 but after a 6-1 win over visitors Sittingbourne in the Kent Senior Cup on 2.10.12 he lost his place in the side.

He only featured once as a substitute in the next three games before starting as Margate lost 4-0 to Metropolitan Police in an Isthmian League Cup tie at Hartsdown Park on 16.10.12 and Michael then made two sub appearances and one start in the next four matches.

On 10.11.12 he played at left-back for the first time as Margate won 2-0 at Harrow but Michael only featured once as a substitute in the next three games after that. He resumed his full-back duties in a 2-0 win over Wingate & Finchley at Hartsdown Park on 8.12.12 and in its report on a 3-1 home win over Carshalton on 11.12.12 the Isle of Thanet Gazette said Michael had "deputised comfortably for Dean Pooley at left-back". He kept his place for the next two matches as well but a 2-1 defeat at Concord Rangers on 5.1.13 turned out to be Michael's last outing for Margate. Towards the end of January 2013 he was released having made 19 appearances (six as sub) without scoring.

Michael then joined his old club Bishop's Stortford but the Conference South outfit immediately loaned him to Wealdstone of the Premier Division under a dual-registration agreement.

On 18.3.13 Michael was sent off in the last minute as the Stones beat visitors Lewes 6-1 and he made a total of six appearances (one as sub) before going back to Bishop's Stortford in March 2013.

In August 2013 Michael rejoined Canvey Island.
