Versatile left-sided player born in Folkestone who began his career with Canterbury during the 1984/85 season but then dropped into the Kent County League. Mark spent several years with New Romney before joining Thanet United in November 1988.

He made his debut at left-back as United lost 2-0 at home to Fisher in a Kent Senior Cup tie on 22.11.88 and the Thanet Times then said he was "very impressive" in a 0-0 draw at Andover on 26.11.88. Mark made the number three shirt his own for the next few weeks, enjoying a run of 14 games at left-back. The Thanet Times said he "took the eye with some dogged work" in a 4-0 defeat at home to Andover on 21.1.89 but on 4.2.89 Mark damaged his knee ligaments as United lost 2-0 to Bury at Hartsdown Park. The injury forced him to miss two matches but he returned to the side as a striker for a 2-2 draw with Corinthian at Hartsdown on 28.2.89. Mark then had a run of four games as a midfielder / left winger and on 18.3.89 he had the misfortune to score an own goal which gave Gravesend & Northfleet a 2-1 win at Hartsdown. He sliced an attempted clearance past a stranded Joe Radford. After being carried off in a 1-1 draw at Folkestone on 25.3.89 Mark resumed his left-back duties for the last few games of the campaign and played his final match for United in a 5-0 defeat at Sheppey on 1.5.89. It was his 27th appearance (one as sub) without scoring and at the end of the season Mark left the club.

In the summer of 1989 he joined Folkestone and when the club went out of business at the end of 1990 Mark moved on to Folkestone Invicta.

He went on to score 36 goals for Invicta during the 1991/92 season and Mark stayed with the club until October 1994 when he moved on to Whitstable.

He made three reserve team appearances during a short stay with the Oystermen and scored once before leaving the club.

Mark later rejoined Folkestone and played for them during the 1995/96 and 1996/97 seasons.

In 2011 he was working as a Senior Roadworks Engineer at a Deal-based firm of Land Surveyors.

In August 2013 Mark played in a charity match to celebrate former Thanet player John Lineham's 50th birthday and a host of other former Margate / Thanet players were also involved in the game.
