Versatile player who played for Fleetway Printers in the North Kent Sunday League during the 1984/85 season and later moved into senior football with Corinthian.
Mark joined Thanet United from Corinthian at the end of January 1989 and made his debut at right-back in a 2-0 defeat against Bury at Hartsdown Park on 4.2.89. He also wore the number two shirt in Thanet's next three games before moving into midfield for a game at Burnham on 4.3.89. Mark stayed in that position for the rest of his time with the club, making his final appearance in a 1-1 draw with Witney at Hartsdown on 23.4.89. He then left United just before the end of the 1988/89 campaign having made a total of 13 appearances without scoring.
During the 1989/90 season he played for Scott in the North Kent Sunday League and one of Mark's team-mates was future Margate striker Paul Underwood.
