Tenacious player who had a spell with Tottenham Hotspur as a schoolboy before moving to Maidstone for the 1989/90 season. Mark captained the Stones' youth team and also played for the senior side in the Kent Senior Cup Final against Gillingham in 1990.
In the summer of 1991 Mark signed for Margate aged 18 and made his debut on 17.8.91 as Margate went down 2-1 to Burnham at Hartsdown Park on the opening day of the 1991/92 campaign. He then played regularly for the rest of the season, usually in midfield but occasionally as a full-back. On 3.9.91 Mark scored his first goal in a 1-1 draw at Sittingbourne and the Isle of Thanet Gazette said that he was "industrious". On 8.2.92 he was sent off for fighting in a 1-1 draw with Buckingham at Hartsdown and had to serve a three match ban. After missing five games through injury in April 1992 Mark returned to action at the end of the month and featured in the last two matches of 1991/92. On 5.5.92 he came on as a substitute as Margate lost 3-1 at home to Ramsgate in the annual Isle of Thanet Gazette Cup game and it turned out to be Mark's last appearance. He was released from his contract at the end of the season so that he could go and play in Hong Kong. Mark had made a total of 44 appearances (three as sub) and scored three goals for Margate.
After returning to the UK Mark joined Heybridge Swifts during 1992/93 and then started the 1993/94 campaign with Enfield.
In January 1994 he moved on to Braintree and Mark stayed there until early 1995.
His next move took him to Billericay and Mark made 18 appearances (two as sub) there before the end of 1994/95 and another 35 appearances (two as sub) during 1995/96. He spent around four years with Billericay before leaving the club to link up with Harlow towards the end of 1998.
He made 24 league appearances (ten as sub) and scored once for Harlow during 1998/99 and also played once for Staines during the season.
In the summer of 1999 Mark signed for Cheshunt and spent several years there. Injuries blighted the latter part of his time with the club and Mark missed the whole of 2002/03 and only played twice in 2003/04 before leaving Cheshunt during that season.
Having battled back to full fitness Mark returned to Cheshunt for the start of the 2004/05 campaign and took his total appearances for the club past the 100 mark before joining Enfield for a second spell in December 2004.
Mark made 12 Isthmian League appearances for Enfield before the end of the 2004/05 season and then retired.
