Maidstone-born keeper who had a spell with the Stones as a youth before joining Margate in the summer of 1991.
Luke played for the club's Under-18 and reserve sides throughout the 1991/92 campaign and stayed at Hartsdown Park for 1992/93. He made 24 apps for the Under-18's during the season and on 14.3.93 Luke was sent off for them in a 2-1 defeat at Ashford. He won Margate's 'Most Improved Player of the Year' award and made four reserve team appearances in the Kent Midweek League.
During the 1993/94 campaign Luke played regularly for Kent's Under-18 side and on 20.2.94 he was sent off as Margate's Under 18's beat Snowdown 5-4. On 23.4.94 he made his first team debut in a 2-0 win at Bury but it was Luke's only senior appearance of the season. He then returned to the Under-18's and played as a striker for them after coming on as a substitute in a 2-1 defeat at Chatham on 8.5.94.
Luke made his first senior appearance of the 1994/95 campaign when he came on as a sub to replace Kevin Hudson in a 5-1 win at Fisher in a Southern League Cup tie on 4.10.94. He made another sub appearance in the return leg against Fisher - a 2-2 draw at Hartsdown on 18.10.94 - but didn't feature in the first team again until 15.4.95 when he came on as an outfield player during a 3-1 defeat at Tonbridge. Luke was Margate's only substitute and it was the first time in the club's history that a sub goalkeeper had to be used to replace an outfield player. On 17.4.95 he made his first start for almost a year in a 3-0 win over Fisher at Hartsdown and the Isle of Thanet Gazette said Luke "proved a more than capable deputy for Kevin Hudson". He kept his place for Margate's next two games and the Thanet Times said Luke "pulled off several smart saves" in the second of them - a 2-2 draw at Poole on 22.4.95. That turned out to be his last first team game and Luke finished the season having made six appearances (three as sub).
He stayed with Margate for the 1995/96 campaign and although he played in some pre-season friendlies Luke didn't make any competitive appearances. In March 1996 he joined Gravesend & Northfleet.
Luke moved on to Folkestone Invicta in the summer of 1996 but only made one first team appearance before linking up with Tonbridge in October 1996.
He later had a spell at Tunbridge Wells that included the 1998/99 and 1999/00 seasons and by 2002/03 Luke was playing for Aylesford Paper Mills in the Kent County League.
