Hard-working Scottish player who joined Margate in the summer of 1965 having previously had a spell at St.Johnstone.
John was the only amateur in the first team squad and made his debut in a 2-2 draw at Guildford on 21.8.65 - the opening day of the 1965/66 season. During September 1965 he played twice more for the first team but then left the club.
His surname may actually have been spelt 'Cook'.
