In 1996 Jason played in both legs of the FA Youth Cup Final as the Hammers lost 4-1 on aggregate to a Liverpool side that included Michael Owen and Jamie Carragher. Future England internationals Rio Ferdinand and Frank Lampard were in the West Ham line-up as well as Manny Omoyinmi who later played for Margate. Jason went on play more than 70 reserve team games for the Hammers but in May 1998 he was released.
He joined Dover for the start of the 1998/99 season and early in 1999 he had a loan spell with Ramsgate before signing for Margate in February 1999.
When the local press asked manager Chris Kinnear about Jason he said "He's got lots of qualities, is very quick and a good acquisition for the club". Jason made his debut at right-back in a 2-0 win over Brackley at Hartsdown Park on 27.2.99 and the Thanet Times said he "looked a good addition". Kinnear told the Isle of Thanet Gazette "He was ok. He hasn't played since November". Jason started Margate's next two matches in midfield and on 23.3.99 he came on as a substitute in a 3-2 home defeat against Welling. It turned out to be his last appearance for the club and he moved on shortly after missing the team bus for a trip to Witney on 17.4.99.
After leaving Hartsdown Park Jason had a spell with Folkestone and in the summer of 2000 he rejoined Dover.
Jason made five substitute appearances for Dover (four in the Conference) in the early months of the 2000/01 campaign before linking up with Ramsgate at the start of 2001.
He went back to Dover for a third spell in the summer of 2001 but joined Deal a few weeks into the 2001/02 season.
Jason returned to Ramsgate for the start of 2002/03 and after his third stint with the Rams ended he had a lengthy spell out of senior football.
He played for Tilbury during the 2004/05 campaign but then dropped out of semi-professional football again.
Jason resurfaced in the summer of 2008 when he played in three pre-season friendlies for Dover who'd just signed his younger brother Sammy. Jason left the club before the start of the league season.
In March 2010 he materialised at Hythe and Jason made four appearances (one as sub) there before leaving the club.
