Strong 5' 9" tall defensively-minded player born in Bakau, Gambia who started his career with Gambia Ports Authority as a youngster before joining Bakau United. Hasim played for Gambia's Under-17 and Under-21 sides before moving to England in 2004.

He had spells with Fisher and Dulwich during the 2004/05 season and in the summer of 2005 Hasim signed for Margate.

He made his debut in midfield in a 2-0 defeat at Ramsgate in a match played for the Kent Messenger Cup on 13.8.05 and became a fixture in the Margate side for the next few months. The Thanet Times said Hasim "shackled danger man (Steve) Hafner" as Margate beat Maldon 1-0 at Hartsdown Park in their first Isthmian League Premier Division game on 20.8.05 and in its report on a 0-0 home draw with Redbridge on 29.8.05 the paper said of Hasim "he tackles well, heads well and is not afraid to shoot".

On 6.9.05 he played as a centre-back for the first time as Margate drew 1-1 with Fisher at Hartsdown Park and the Isle of Thanet Gazette said Hasim slotted "effortlessly" into the defence. The paper also wrote "few would dispute that Chris Kinnear has found a gem" and around that time the Margate manager compared Hasim to former star defender Sam Sodje.

In its report on a 2-2 draw with visitors Slough on 17.9.05 the Thanet Times said Hasim was "very clever at conceding fouls which won't get him booked" but on 29.10.05 he was sent off in a 1-0 defeat at Braintree after reacting badly to a dangerous tackle. After playing in a 3-2 home defeat against Bromley in the Isthmian League Cup on 8.11.05 Hasim had to serve a three match ban.

His suspension coincided with a call-up to the Gambian Under-23 squad for the 2005 Amilcar Cabral Cup held in Conakry, Guinea during November 2005. Hasim was one of five foreign-based players called up for the tournament for Western African nations and former Bakau United head coach Ebrima Jallow told the Daily Observer newspaper "Hasim played under me at Bakau United at a very tender age. He was a regular player in the team before his departure to the United Kingdom. Before joining Bakau United, Hasim was a trainee at Gambia Ports Authority." Jallow described him as "a young promising player, who has the potential to feature in big clubs in the near future." Unfortunately Gambia's Under-23's lost both their group matches - to Mali's full international side and Senegal's Under-23's - to finish bottom of the table.

After missing four games Hasim returned to the Margate side when he came on as a substitute in a match at East Thurrock on 3.12.05. He headed his first goal for the club from an Anthony Allman free-kick but Margate lost 3-1. Hasim was back in the starting line-up as Margate lost 2-0 at Heybridge on 6.12.05 and he then enjoyed another good run in the team, usually playing in midfield.

On 14.1.06 Margate took on Staines at Hartsdown Park and after 41 minutes debutant goalkeeper Billy McMahon was stretchered off with a knee injury. By then Margate were 3-0 down and with no sub keeper on the bench Hasim volunteered to take over in goal. He did well although Staines ended up winning 5-2 and the Thanet Times said Hasim "made a couple of decent saves and had his every touch cheered". He told the Kentish Football website "I really thought I could make a difference...I used to play as a goalkeeper when I was young but I got discouraged because of my height."

Hasim scored his second goal for Margate with a thumping header from a Greg Oates corner in a 2-1 home win over East Thurrock on 4.2.06 but he then missed the next two matches. He returned as a sub in a 1-1 draw with Braintree at Hartsdown Park on 18.2.06 and the Thanet Times said Hasim had "added real bite to the Margate midfield" after replacing Pat Gradley 20 minutes into the game. Hasim then featured in the next three matches, once as a sub, but after a 1-0 home defeat against AFC Wimbledon on 7.3.06 he sat out four games due to a groin injury.

Hasim made his comeback in a 1-1 draw with Windsor & Eton at Hartsdown Park on 4.4.06 and the Isle of Thanet Gazette said he "looked strong on his return". He then wore the number five shirt in a match at Hampton & Richmond on 8.4.06 but had to go off due to injury as Margate won 1-0. That turned out to be Hasim's final outing for the club and he missed the last four games of the season. He'd scored twice from a total of 36 appearances (three as sub).

In July 2006 Hasim was transfer-listed at his own request and new player-manager Robin Trott told the Thanet Times "He's got a few things happening and decided he wants to go, so he's on the list. I was going to keep him but I don't want anyone who doesn't want to be at the club. How many times was he injured last year ? I think it's a blessing in disguise. I'm not bothered. I'm pleased he's going."

Towards the end of August 2006 Hasim joined Conference club Stevenage on trial before a formal loan deal was agreed in September, initially for a month. His loan spell was later extended to a second month and then a third and on 2.12.06 Hasim made his first start for Stevenage as they took on Oxford United at Broadhall Way. It was a memorable debut as he was sent off inside the first half hour following a mass brawl on the pitch. In January 2007 he finally joined Stevenage on a permanent basis after they paid Margate an undisclosed fee for his services but Hasim was released at the end of the 2006/07 campaign. He'd made a total of eight appearances for Stevenage but only one of them had been a start - the Oxford game he was sent off in.

In the summer of 2007 Hasim had trials at Leicester and Luton before signing for Conference South club St.Albans in time for the start of the 2007/08 campaign. He went on to make 37 appearances (five as sub) and scored twice but left the club at the end of season as he couldn't train as often as the St.Albans manager required him to.

After a few months out of football Hasim linked up with Isthmian League Division 1 North outfit Ware in December 2008. Their squad included former Margate players Tamba Ngongou and Osman Sesay but Hasim only made one sub appearance before leaving the club.

After another spell out of the game Hasim was reported as having signed for Sutton in June 2009 but the move fell through when he relocated to the north of England and he ended up joining Northern League Division 1 North side Curzon Ashton for the 2009/10 campaign.

In June 2010 Hasim returned to the Isthmian League Premier Division when he signed for Tooting & Mitcham and he captained them during 2010/11. Hasim scored once from 32 league outings before leaving the club at the end of the season and dropping out of senior football.
