Agile keeper born in Willesden, Middlesex known for his long goal-kicks who started his career at Charlton, playing for their Colts team during the 1967/68 season. He also played once for the Addicks' midweek side.
Garry moved on to Southend for the 1968/69 campaign and then joined Margate on loan in January 1970.
Garry made his debut in a 1-1 draw with Crawley on 10.1.70 and his performance was described as "most encouraging" by the Isle of Thanet Gazette. He went on to make a total of 29 appearances before the end of the 1969/70 campaign to establish himself in a position that had proved to be a major headache for Margate during the season. The club used six different goalkeepers during the campaign. Garry left the club at the end of the season and joined King's Lynn for the 1970/71 campaign.
He spent four seasons with King's Lynn and then joined Dunstable in the summer of 1974.
Garry played for the Bedfordshire club throughout the 1974/75 and 1975/76 campaigns and Dunstable manager Barry Fry claimed he wouldn't exchange Garry for Gordon Banks and Peter Shilton put together. He also praised Garry's agility and safe handling, calling him "The best keeper outside of the Football League."
Garry left Dunstable to join Leytonstone for 1976/77 before linking up with Hendon for the 1977/78 campaign where he took over as first-choice from Malcolm Dalrymple, another former Margate keeper.
Garry's next move to took him to Barnet where he spent the 1978/79, 1979/80 and 1980/81 seasons. He retired during 1981/82 due to an arthritic knee.
Garry was an upholsterer by trade.
