Hard tackling Welsh player born in Ystalyfera, Glamorganshire who played for South Wales as a youth before starting his senior career with spells at Glanrhyd and then Pontardawe.
In 1948 Frank was signed by Swansea Town and played for their youth and reserve teams but he couldn't break into the Swans' senior side and in November 1949 he moved on to Watford.
Frank made 14 first team appearances for the Hornets, then in the 3rd Division (South), spanning the 1949/50 to 1952/53 campaigns.
In July 1953 he joined Leyton Orient and made four senior appearances for them during 1953/54.
In May 1954 Frank dropped into non-league football and signed for Ramsgate. He spent four seasons with the Rams before moving across Thanet to join Margate in September 1958.
Frank made his debut in a 4-1 win at Herne Bay on 13.9.58 and went on to make a total of 24 appearances without scoring in midfield during the remainder of the 1958/59 campaign. On 15.11.58 he was in the side that lost 3-2 at Headington in the FA Cup 1st Round. Frank was released at the end of the season.
He later had a spell with Adeyfield Athletic, a Hertfordshire non-league club. Frank was player-coach there from January 1960 until 1962.
Frank died in the Watford area on 14.4.10 aged 82.
His son Kenny played for Watford and Wales during the 1980's and also managed clubs including Swansea City, Millwall and Wolves. Frank also had another son who was on Luton's books as an apprentice at one time.
