Versatile player born in Bromley who played for Kent and Millwall as a schoolboy before signing Associated Schoolboy forms for Charlton on 25.1.79.
Frank played for Charlton's Colts and reserves during 1978/79 and became an apprentice professional on 11.4.79. During 1979/80 he helped the Reserves win the Midweek League Cup whilst still playing for the Colts when needed.
In December 1979 he was chosen for an FA Youth XI for a game against a Public Schools X1 and on 7.8.80 Frank was signed as a full-time professional. He played for the Colts and reserves once again during 1980/81.
In the summer of 1981 Frank had a spell in Finland with Kuopion ELO where he made 21 league appearances and scored three goals before returning to The Valley.
He played for the reserves throughout 1981/82 but at a board meeting on 18.5.82 Frank terminated his contract with Charlton and received an ex gratia payment of £500.
He returned to Finland to play for Kuopion once again and scored six goals from 15 league appearances during the summer 1982 season. During his time with Kuopion Frank was awarded a special pennant by the club for his efforts and they'd only given out ten since 1919.
After his spell in Finland Frank spent five years in Australia playing for Adelaide City and then Perth-based National League club Preston Macedonia. He also represented Western Australia. Between seasons in Australia he spent time back in England and during 1986/87 Frank turned out for Dulwich, he also had a short spell at Hull at some stage.
After a period out of the game with injury Frank joined Fisher in the summer of 1989 and at the end of December 1989 they loaned him to Margate.
Frank played his first game for Margate on 1.1.90 in a Southern League game at Folkestone and the Isle of Thanet Gazette said he had "an impressive debut" at centre-back and "turned in a capable performance". Frank put Margate ahead with a 25 yard shot after 15 minutes but Folkestone fought back and the game finished 1-1. He then had a run of games playing in midfield or as a striker and scored twice more including what the Thanet Times described as "a gem of a goal" to seal a 1-0 win over Hounslow at Hartsdown Park on 10.2.90. Frank lobbed home from 30 yards and the Thanet Extra said the finish was "nonchalant". The Extra also praised his "subtle skills". Frank made a total of ten appearances for Margate, the last of them at centre-back in a 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Buckingham on 27.3.90, before being released in April 1990.
In January 1998 the South East London Mercury reported that Frank was a glazier who had run his own company called Andyglaze specialising in windows and doors for the past eight years.
