Skilful Scottish player who started his career with non-league Wishaw and then moved to England to join Luton in August 1960.

After only a month with the Hatters Eddie returned to Scotland and signed for Hibernian in September 1960. After failing to make the Hibs first team he moved on again in November 1961, this time joining Berwick Rangers.

Eddie went on to make a total of 53 first team appearances for Berwick and scored 11 goals spanning the 1961/62-1963/64 seasons before signing for Ayr United in October 1963.

He made four first team appearances without scoring for Ayr during the remainder of the 1963/64 campaign but in April 1964 he was released.

After a spell out of senior football Eddie returned to England in the summer of 1971 and joined Margate. He made his debut on 14.8.71, the opening day of the 1971/72 season, and scored two headed goals in a 3-1 win over Telford at Hartsdown Park. He went on to make a total of 15 appearances (two as sub) and scored five times before being released in November 1971 by mutual consent.

Eddie joined Tonbridge after his departure from Hartsdown Park.
