6' 4" tall keeper born in Chelmsford who was part of Colchester's Centre of Excellence from the age of 11 until he was 13 years old before being picked up by Ipswich.
By 2004/05 David was a regular in the Suffolk club's Under-16's team and played alongside future Margate defender Jack Haverson for them. He also made some appearances for the Under-18's later in the season before being released in April 2005.
In July 2005 David was signed by West Ham aged 16 and he progressed to the Hammers' reserve side during 2006/07, making several appearances for them. He also had a spell on loan at Conference club Lewes during December 2006 and January 2007.
Shortly after returning from Lewes David signed professional forms with West Ham and at the start of the 2007/08 campaign he played in the Under-18's.
In September 2007 he was loaned out to Thurrock and David made 35 Conference South appearances for them during the remainder of the season. Former Margate keeper Nej Hussein was his understudy at Thurrock.
Although still a West Ham player David had a trial with Luton in the summer of 2008 and then in September 2008 he was sent back to Thurrock once more. He made five appearances in his second loan stint and then went back to Upton Park.
David played in two reserve team games for Charlton in December 2008 and in January 2009 West Ham loaned him to Thurrock for the third time. He featured in four more matches for the Essex club before returning to the Hammers in March 2009.
David was released by West Ham at the end of the 2008/09 campaign and by then he'd made a total of 25 reserve team appearances during his four years with the club as well as 45 appearances for the Irons' Under-18's.
In the summer of 2009 he had a trial with Macclesfield and featured in pre-season friendlies for them. Then in August 2009 David had a trial at AFC Bournemouth where he played in the reserves.
After yet another trial - at Conference club Ebbsfleet in early September 2009 - he signed for Woking, also of the Conference, towards the end of September 2009.
David made his debut for the Cards as they were held to a shock 2-2 draw in an FA Cup tie at Kent League club Hythe on 26.9.09 and it was his only outing for Woking.
In October 2009 David signed for Margate and became the club's fourth keeper in as many matches when he played in a 2-0 defeat at Canvey Island in the Isthmian League Premier Division on 10.10.09. The Thanet Times said he "had no chance with either goal" but within days David had left the club.
He then joined Conference South outfit Braintree and made his debut for them on 17.10.09 as they beat visitors Staines 2-0. David stayed with the Iron until the end of 2009 but then drifted away from football.
