Left-sided player born in Folkestone who played for the district's schoolboys side in the late 1960's and then started his senior career with Folkestone, breaking into their reserve side during the 1970/71 season.
During the 1971/72 campaign Dave played for Gillingham's Under-17's side as well as for Folkestone's youth and reserve teams.
He made his first team debut for Folkestone aged 18 during the 1972/73 campaign and later dropped into amateur football in the Folkestone area.
Dave played for Kent Amateur League outfit Northcliffe & Dormobile during 1976/77 and then in the summer of 1977 he returned to senior football when Margate signed him.
Dave made his debut in a Kent Senior Shield tie against Ramsgate at Hartsdown Park on 6.8.77 and scored the goal which gave Margate a 1-0 win. He went on to make a total of seven appearances during the early part of the 1977/78 season but left the club before Christmas 1977 and returned to amateur football in the Folkestone district.
His local clubs included Two Bells and Stargram and Dave carried on playing until the early 1990's.
Later in the 1990's he did some football coaching on board P & O cruise ships and his fellow coaches included Gordon Banks, Norman Hunter and Alan Mullery.
In 2012 Dave was working for Buckland Press in Dover and living in Folkestone.
