Much-travelled keeper born in Bethnal Green, London who played for London Under-19's and Essex as a youngster before starting his career with Haringey in 1979.

After a short spell with Dagenham Craig joined Leyton-Wingate in the summer of 1981 and was ever-present during the 1981/82 season, making 54 appearances in total. He went on to spend almost seven years with the club and set a record for consecutive appearances. Craig's run ended when he broke his arm in two places early in 1987 and the injury was so severe that initially there were fears that he could lose his hand.

Craig left Leyton-Wingate to join Boreham Wood in the summer of 1988 but he went back to Leyton for the 1989/90 season.

During 1990/91 he linked up with Dartford and Craig was still with the Darts as the 1991/92 campaign began. He was sent off on the opening day of that season in a game against Bromsgrove who also had their keeper dismissed.

When Dartford went out of business early Craig joined Grays in September 1992 and his next move took him back to Boreham Wood for the start of 1993/94.

In October 1993 he moved on to Billericay and Craig made over 100 appearances there before signing for Fisher in January 1996. He stayed with the club for the 1996/97 campaign when it became known as Fisher Athletic London.

Craig's next move took him back to Essex as he joined Basildon for the 1997/98 season and he then had a spell with Purfleet before returning to Kent in the summer of 1998 to link up with Erith & Belvedere.

Craig went on to make 49 appearances for the Deres before joining Ashford a few weeks into the 1999/00 campaign. He then had a short spell with Bishop's Stortford and a brief stint back at Billericay before signing for Kent League club Deal in January 2000.

Craig played a starring role in Deal's run to the FA Vase Final which ended in triumph as they beat Chippenham 1-0 at the old Wembley on 6.5.00 and future Margate keeper Jamie Turner was on the Deal bench for the match.

Craig started the 2000/01 season with another spell at Bishop's Stortford and then had his second stint with Grays before rejoining Ashford in November 2000.

In March 2001 he signed for Margate aged 38 as cover for first-choice keeper Lee Turner and manager Chris Kinnear told the Isle of Thanet Gazette "I've known Craig for a long time and he's a good, experienced keeper". He made his debut in a 2-0 win over Bath at Hartsdown Park on 24.3.01 and the Thanet Times said Craig "did a good job, looking assured between the sticks" but it was his only first team appearance for Margate. Soon afterwards he was loaned to Dulwich and Craig made 11 Isthmian League appearances there before the end of the 2000/01 campaign. He was released by Margate in the summer of 2001.

Craig started 2001/02 with Maidstone and then rejoined Deal before the end of 2001.

In the summer of 2002 he returned to Dartford and Craig then retired at the end of the 2002/03 season aged 40.
