Energetic forward who began his career at Gillingham and then moved on to Romford.

Cass joined Bedford during the 1967/68 season before signing for Margate in the summer of 1968.

He made his debut on 10.8.68 in a 2-2 draw with Weymouth at Hartsdown, it was the opening day of the 1968/69 season. Two days later Cass scored his first goal for the club in the Southern League Championship Match at Chelmsford. He went on to score three goals in his first seven games, the last of them a bullet-like header in a 3-1 win at Dartford on 28.8.68, but on 31.8.68 Cass suffered a broken leg in a Southern League game at Hillingdon. A collection made on his behalf during the FA Cup tie against Folkestone at Hartsdown on 21.9.68 raised £32. Cass wasn't able to play again until January 1969 when he made a comeback in the reserves. He returned to first team duty on 17.3.69 and scored in a 4-0 win over Folkestone. In addition Cass set up two goals and the Isle of Thanet Gazette said that he had "lost neither his courage nor his enthusiasm". However he only played twice more for the senior side before being released at the end of season having scored four goals in a total of ten appearances.

Cass then went to Greece and played for Athens club Panionios, it was the first season in which foreign players were allowed into the Greek league. His first game was against Olympiakos in front of 48,000 fans. Panionios finished second in the league and Cass scored 15 goals from midfield - an impressive return.

He stayed with Panionios for a couple of years before moving to Cyprus and joining EPA Larnaca for the 1970/71 season.

The club won the Cypriot League and also played in the European Cup, losing 16-0 on aggregate to German side Borussia Moenchengladbach.

Cass then moved to the USA and had a short spell with New York Cosmos - the most famous American club of the 1970's - although he never played in the North American Soccer League for them. Cosmos was his last club before retiring.

In 2002 he was back living in the UK.
