Cultured left winger born in Highgate, London who started his career at Chatham during the 1968/69 season.
Brian then had spells with Faversham and amateur club Hoo Institute (near Chatham) before joining Gravesend & Northfleet in July 1971. He signed professional forms for the Fleet on 27.11.71 and celebrated by setting up the winning goal in a 1-0 victory at Margate. During the 1971/72 season Brian was frequently watched by Football League scouts.
He went on to spend eight years with Gravesend and was rated as one of the club's best ever players by their fans of the era. In total Brian made 327 appearances for the Fleet and scored 102 goals, including a hat-trick in a 5-0 win over Margate on 3.12.77. He was granted a benefit during the 1976/77 season.
After leaving Stonebridge Road in the summer of 1979 Brian played for various clubs, starting with Folkestone & Shepway during 1979/80, a season in which he scored ten goals. He then moved to Sheppey for the 1980/81 campaign.
Brian joined Welling for the 1981/82 season and scored for them in a 3-1 win at Thanet on 28.12.81.
In December 1982 Brian joined Thanet, shortly before his 35th birthday. He turned out to be manager Terry Morris' last signing for the club. Brian made his debut in a 6-1 defeat at Salisbury on 20.11.82, Morris' last match in charge of United, and showed some clever touches. He scored his first goal for the club when playing as a striker in a 2-1 defeat at Canterbury on 4.12.82. The Thanet Times said that Brian was "far and away the pick of a disappointing front line" during a 3-1 defeat at Crawley on 11.12.82 but later that month he suffered a knee injury that was expected to rule him out for the rest of the season. However Brian battled back to fitness and returned to the side for the final three games of the 1982/83 campaign, scoring in a 2-2 home draw with Canterbury on 7.5.83. In total he made nine appearances and scored three goals during the season.
During the pre-season friendlies prior to the 1983/84 campaign Brian looked sharp and the Thanet Times said "he will trouble the best in the months to come". However after playing on the left wing in Thanet's first two games of the new season Brian suffered a recurrence of his knee injury and left the club. At the time he considered retiring but decided against that course of action.
Brian later had a second spell at Sheppey and then returned to Chatham before finally retiring after a stint with Corinthian during the 1985/86 season.
Brian worked as a joiner.
