Brian stayed with the club for 1983/84 and made a one-off appearance for United's first team during the season. He played at centre-back in a 2-1 win over Dunstable at Hartsdown on 11.2.84 and suffered a badly gashed ankle that required seven stitches. Although it was Brian's only United appearance, his name was used again when Adrian Jordan played for Thanet's first team later in the season. Jordan was listed as being Brian in all the reports of the match he played in.
Brian stayed with United for the 1984/85 campaign and played for the reserves throughout the season.
In 2005 he was living in Sydney, Australia and running his own air conditioning business.
