Defender who had been a regular in Luton's reserve team for a couple of seasons when he joined Margate on trial in January 1973. Bobby had played for Luton in a friendly at Margate during August 1972.
He made one appearance for Margate before returning to the Hatters, playing in 1-1 draw with Canterbury in a Kent Senior Cup tie at Hartsdown Park on 17.1.73.
Bobby's son Liam (born in 1982) was on Margate's books as a youth before going on to play in the Football League for clubs including Barnet, Peterborough and Darlington. Liam was playing for Darlington in the Conference during the 2011/12 season.
