Reserve team player who made nine appearances for them, scoring twice, during the 1962/63 campaign and then made a one-off appearance for the first team during the 1963/64 season. Arthur played at right-back as Margate went down 5-0 in a Southern League Cup tie at Bexley on 18.12.63 and according to the local paper he had a "nightmare" match. He also played 32 reserve team games during the campaign and scored five times for them. At the end of the season Arthur was released.
During the 1964/65 season Arthur played for Whitstable in the Aetolian League but continued to train at Hartsdown Park.
