6' 0" tall striker born in Epsom, Surrey who started his career with Reading. Andy played for the Royals' youth and reserve teams during an apprenticeship with the club and also had several loan spells with non-league sides.
In February 2009 he spent some time with Isthmian League Division 1 outfit Croydon Athletic where he played once without scoring and at the end of October 2009 Andy had a stint with Basingstoke of the Conference South where he again played once - in a 1-0 defeat at Newport County on 31.10.10 - before going back to Reading.
In January 2010 he was loaned to Conference South club Havant & Waterlooville but Andy didn't make any first team appearances there and in February 2010 he was farmed out to Kingstonian. Andy scored on his debut for the K's as they drew 3-3 with visitors Wealdstone in the Isthmian League Premier Division on 25.2.10 and played once more for the club.
He had two more loan spells before the end of the 2009/10 campaign. Firstly Andy linked up with Conference South club Staines in March 2010 and scored on his debut as they won 3-0 at home against Woking on 13.3.10. He played once more and then briefly returned to Reading. Then in April 2010 Andy had a short second stint with Croydon Athletic where he played just once. At the end of the 2009/10 season he was released by Reading.
In June 2010 Andy signed a one-year deal with League Two club Gillingham and he made his first team debut in a 4-1 defeat at Norwich in the League Cup on 10.8.10, coming on as an 83rd minute substitute. He then played for the Gills reserves and had scored once from four outings for them when he joined Margate on a month's loan in October 2010 to cover for injured striker Shaun Welford.
Andy made his debut in a 0-0 draw at Concord Rangers in the Isthmian League Premier Division on 26.10.10 and became only the second Margate player ever to be sent off on his debut when he picked up two yellow cards. The Isle of Thanet Gazette said his first booking was "a mystery" and also felt that Andy's second caution with 15 minutes left was harsh. The paper said he "never really had the service to show the talent that earned him a Gills debut in the Carling Cup at Norwich back in August".
Andy kept his place for Margate's next game - a 2-1 defeat against AFC Hornchurch in an FA Trophy tie at Hartsdown Park on 30.10.10 - and the Thanet Times said he didn't "have the experience" to be an adequate stand-in for Shaun Welford. Andy then played in a 2-0 home defeat against Bromley in the Kent Senior Cup on 2.11.10 before serving a three match ban. He returned to feature as a substitute in a 5-3 defeat at Croydon Athletic on 17.11.10 but that was Andy's last outing for Margate and he returned to Gillingham having failed to score from four appearances (one as sub).
In January 2011 the Gills loaned Andy to Conference South club Bishop's Stortford and he made six league appearances there without scoring before returning to Priestfield.
In February 2011 Andy scored twice as a Gills X1 won 5-1 in a friendly at Deal and future Margate player Andrew Miller was also on target for Gillingham.
On 23.4.11 Andy made his second and final senior appearance for the Gills when he came on after 76 minutes of a 4-2 home defeat against Barnet in League Two and at the end of the 2010/11 season he was released.
In July 2011 Andy signed for Conference South club Eastleigh and he scored four goals from 18 league outings before being loaned to Dorchester in December 2011.
He scored once from four Conference South appearances for the Dorset club in what was intended to be a three month loan but in January 2012 the deal was terminated and Eastleigh then cancelled Andy's contract shortly afterwards.
He finished the 2011/12 campaign with Winchester of the Southern League Division One South & West and scored six goals from 13 league appearances before the end of the season.
Andy also spent the 2012/13 campaign with Winchester.
