5' 10" tall much-travelled player born in Hastings, New Zealand who moved to Australia as a youngster and progressed through the same Australian football academy that produced future internationals Harry Kewell and Brett Emerton.

In 1995 Adrian came to England for a trial with Newcastle but unfortunately broke his ankle and had to return home.

He then had spells in the youth set-ups at Macarthur Rams and then Blacktown City before Charlton manager Alan Curbishley brought him to England again at the end of 1997.

Adrian made 18 appearances (ten as sub) for Charlton's youth team without scoring before the end of the 1997/98 season and during 1998/99 he had 17 outings for the Under-19's (seven as sub) and scored once. He also made two substitute appearances for the Addicks' reserves but at the end of the season Adrian was released.

In the summer of 1999 he joined Colchester before dropping into non-league football to link up with Faversham towards the end of the year.

Shortly before the end of the 1999/00 campaign Adrian had a spell with Ashford and in April 2000 he had a trial with Northampton where he played for the reserves.

He started the 2000/01 season with Folkestone and Adrian made three appearances there without scoring before rejoining Ashford in November 2000.

His next move took him to Welling in March 2001 but Adrian soon moved on again and finished 2000/01 at Boreham Wood - his fourth club of the season.

In the summer of 2001 Adrian had an extended trial with AFC Bournemouth before signing for Kent League club Maidstone a few weeks into the 2001/02 campaign. The Stones won the league and Adrian also had a spell on trial at Torquay in February 2002.

Adrian featured in most of Margate's pre-season friendlies in the summer of 2002 and at the start of August 2002 manager Chris Kinnear told the Isle of Thanet Gazette "He's a utility player really, and he's extremely fit." Adrian made his debut as a substitute on the opening day of the 2002/03 campaign as Margate drew 1-1 with Morecambe in a Conference game played at Dover. It turned out to be his only appearance and he soon rejoined Maidstone.

In May 2003 Adrian was released by the Stones and shortly afterwards he moved back to Australia. He joined Sydney-based Premier League side St.George and had a good 2003 season before suffering medial ligament damage with two games to go.

Adrian returned to England to get treatment for his knee and having finally recovered by the summer of 2004 he was due to fly back to Australia. However in September 2004 Darlington offered Adrian a trial and at the start of October the club signed him. Adrian said "I was just concentrating on getting the right treatment on my knee. I made a good recovery and was about to go home when I got a call out of the blue to come up here. I was delighted when the manager offered me a contract." Quakers manager Dave Hodgson said "I was a big fan of his before we eventually tied him down...I'd seen him play two or three reserve team games and he did some very good things and all I kept thinking was is this boy is going to get better."

Adrian made his debut for Darlington as a late substitute in a 2-1 win at Rushden on 6.11.04 and from then on he was a regular in the matchday squad although often used as a substitute. By the end of 2004/05 Adrian had featured in 24 senior games without scoring and often played alongside former Margate striker Akpo Sodje for the Quakers.

In June 2005 Adrian made his international debut for New Zealand in a friendly against Australia played at Fulham's Craven Cottage ground in London. Although New Zealand lost 1-0 he did well enough to be included in several more squads and he ended up collecting a total of five caps, the last of them in 2006. Adrian also played for New Zealand's 'A' team.

He stayed at Darlington for the 2005/06 campaign and on 17.9.05 Adrian scored his first goal for the club in a 2-1 home defeat against Oxford. Unfortunately he was injured in a 3-1 home win over Cheltenham on 22.10.05 and only played once more after that. At the end of the season Adrian was released having scored once in a total of 38 appearances for Darlington (13 as sub).

He then returned to Australia and joined Perth Glory ahead of their 2006/07 A-League campaign. On 28.12.06 Adrian was involved in a post-match altercation with his captain Jamie Harnwell as Perth left the field after a 0-0 draw with Adelaide and their clash was broadcast live on national television. Both players received official reprimands, suspended bans and fines. At the end of the A-League season in January 2007 Adrian was released having made 20 appearances.

He then signed for Blacktown City where he'd spent time as a youth. They played in the New South Wales Premier League (one level below the A-League) and Adrian featured regularly for them up to the end of the 2006/07 campaign - the New South Wales season was longer than the A-League's.

In the summer of 2007 Adrian returned to England to work as a personal trainer in the Teeside area and had trials with Brighton & Hove Albion and then Burton where he scored against Nottingham Forest in the Bass Charity Vase Final.

After another trial, this time with a club in Bratislava, Adrian signed for Conference North side Workington and started the 2007/08 season there.

At the start of October 2007 he moved on to Blyth Spartans (also in the Conference North) and stayed with the club until April 2008 when he left the UK to play in Finland.

Adrian initially joined Myllykosken Pallo and made ten appearances there before signing for Kuopion Palloseura. He had eight outings form them and helped the team to keep their place in the Veikkausliiga.

In January 2009 Adrian returned to England and rejoined Blyth Spartans. He spent a year there before going back to Australia in January 2010.

Adrian signed for Cockburn City of the West Australia Premier League and scored six goals for them during the 2010 season. He was chosen as the clubs 'Fairest and Best Player' despite featuring in only fourteen of their 22 league games. Adrian also played for Western Australia in a game against Perth Glory and was selected amongst the reserves for the West Australia Premier League's 'All-Star' squad.

During the 2011 season he was Cockburn's captain.

By the summer of 2012 Adrian was back in England and he featured in a friendly for his old club Darlington whilst training with them but ended up joining Northern League Division 1 outfit Newton Aycliffe for the start of the 2012/13 campaign.

He scored once from five outings for Newton Aycliffe before moving on to their league rivals Bishop Auckland in October 2012. Adrian stayed there until the end of the 2013/14 season.

In July 2014 Adrian was appointed as the new player-manager of his former club Newton Aycliffe having rejoined them as a coach just a few weeks before. General Manager Dan Lewis said "We're delighted Adrian has accepted the role as manager. He has huge experience in the game as an international footballer, knows the Northern League inside out and has excellent contacts at all levels of the game."
