Tricky 5' 10" tall attacker who started his career in Gillingham's junior ranks and started playing regularly for the youth team during the 2007/08 season.
Adam stayed with the Gills for the 2008/09 campaign and scored seven goals for the youth team during the first few months of the season. He also featured in the reserves.
in November 2008 Adam was loaned to Conference South club Welling under a work experience agreement and in March 2009 he started a similar spell with Dartford.
Adam scored eight goals for the Darts' Under-21 side before the end of the 2008/09 campaign but he was also sent off twice and received a lengthy ban from the Kent Football Association.
At the end of the season Adam was released by Gillingham and in July 2009 he signed for Dartford on a permanent basis. He made nine appearances (six as sub) for the Darts' first team during 2009/10 and scored three times as they closed in on the Isthmian League Premier Division title but in February 2010 he was sent off in an Under-21 game at Whitstable and later received a 35 day ban. Shortly after that Adam started a loan spell at Tonbridge.
He scored three times in 11 Premier Division outings (four as sub) for the Angels during the closing weeks of the campaign and Adam's goals came in three consecutive Tonbridge matches from 16.3.10 to 23.3.10 inclusive.
In August 2010 he was loaned out to Tonbridge again and Adam made five substitute appearances in the league without scoring during his second spell with the Angels before going back to Dartford at the end of September 2010.
He went on to score twice from 19 outings (15 as sub) for the Darts during 2010/11 as they adjusted to life in the Conference South before joining Maidstone on loan in March 2011.
Adam was the Stones' new player-manager Jay Saunders' first signing and he made five Premier League appearances (three as sub) without scoring for Maidstone before the end of the season. Adam was also sent off in a 4-3 win at Tooting & Mitcham on 2.4.11.
He was released by Dartford in May 2011 and after featuring in all of Margate's friendlies in the summer of 2011 Adam was given a one-year contract by the club in August 2011.
On the eve of the 2011/12 season manager Chris Kinnear spoke to the Isle of Thanet Gazette about him and said "At 20, he has a lot of potential and hopefully he'll realise it here. Very sharp and he can score goals".
Adam made his debut for Margate as a substitute in a 1-1 draw at Wealdstone in the Isthmian League Premier Division on 20.8.11 and he then featured as a sub in five of the next six games. On 17.9.11 he made his first start in a 3-0 home win over Tooting & Mitcham in an FA Cup tie and Adam then kept his place on the left wing on 24.9.11 as Margate lost 2-1 in the league encounter against the same opponents at Hartsdown Park. He then only featured once as a substitute in the next six matches.
On 18.10.11 Adam wore the number 11 shirt as Margate took on visitors Kingstonian in an Isthmian League Cup tie and scored in a 3-1 win. The Isle of Thanet Gazette said he "took the chance to impress with an early goal and a number of tricky runs".
Adam then sat out three games and at the end of October 2011 he was made available for loan. Chris Kinnear told the Isle of Thanet Gazette "He's only 20 and it's hard for a young lad of that age to be sitting on the bench. It was my suggestion that he goes out on loan somewhere for a month. Hythe have been in touch but he'll go where he wants to go. If he gets in a side, plays eight games, gets on a roll and scores a few goals, he'll come back here raring to go."
At the start of November 2011 a proposed loan move to Leatherhead fell through and Adam ended up staying at Hartsdown Park. On 5.11.11 he featured as a sub in a 1-1 home draw with Wealdstone in the FA Trophy and after making two more appearances from the bench Adam started an Isthmian League Cup tie at Metropolitan Police on 16.11.11. He scored twice in a 3-2 defeat and the Isle of Thanet Gazette said his "pace caused no end of problems".
In his next outing, as a substitute in a home game against Kingstonian on 19.11.11, Adam set up an injury-time goal for Kwesi Appiah as Margate won 2-1 and after that he played twice more as a sub in the next five matches. On 17.12.11 he scored his fourth goal after coming on in a league game against Metropolitan Police at Hartsdown Park but Margate lost the match 3-1. Chris Kinnear told the Isle of Thanet Gazette "He looked like he had bags of energy when he came on." and Adam then featured as a sub in six of the next nine games.
On 20.2.12 he made only his second league start as Margate lost 2-1 at Kingstonian and the Isle of Thanet Gazette said Adam "showed his quality inside three minutes" by hitting the post with what the paper said was "a hell of a shot". He then kept his place for the next three matches up to and including a 2-2 draw at Wingate & Finchley on 3.3.12 but after that Adam only came on once as sub in the next seven games.
After he'd been an unused substitute as Margate lost 3-1 at home to Cray on 9.4.12 Adam took to Twitter to describe Chris Kinnear as "clueless" and the Isle of Thanet Gazette reported that he initially tried to blame it on friends. However the next day Adam apologised and said "I would like to apologise for my outburst yesterday ! I was frustrated with how the result went and the way my season has turned out this year. I've spoken to the gaffer and there are no hard feelings. We just want to move on and will carry on giving 100 per cent for the club."
Chris Kinnear told the Gazette "He's lost his rag and done something stupid but he's just a young boy, so why would I get upset ? He phoned me and said 'I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I don't know what I've done'. It was nothing personal, he was just upset about the football and not playing. It's no big deal to me, it's gone and I won't be fining him. The problem with Twitter is players have these emotional outbursts in the heat of the moment and they don't realise that once it's out there, people see it and they can't take it back. Some players use Twitter as a bit of a laugh, others think they're Joey Barton. If I think Burch can do a job at Tooting on Saturday I'll play him. I've not discussed next season but even if he's not here it won't be because of what he's said on Twitter."
Adam appeared as a substitute in the game at Tooting & Mitcham on 14.4.12 - a match that finished as a 1-1 draw - and he featured twice more as a sub in the last three games of the season with his last outing from the bench coming in a 5-0 defeat at Canvey Island on 28.4.12. In all he'd scored four times in 32 appearances (24 as sub) during 2011/12 and Adam was released at the end of the campaign.
At the start of July 2012 he played for Maidstone in a 5-1 friendly win at Bearsted and Adam then featured in several pre-season games for Metropolitan Police before opting to sign for Kent League outfit Erith & Belvedere in August 2012.
He joined the Deres on a non-contract basis and told the Kentish Football website "I know people will be surprised that I've dropped into the Kent League when I'm more than capable of playing at a higher level. To be truthful I was ready to walk away from the game. I was so fed up and disappointed being let down despite playing well, working hard and consistently scoring and assisting when given playing time with previous clubs. Micky Collins, the manager of Erith & Belvedere, has genuine faith in me and I want to start afresh and enjoy football. I hope I can put the Deres on the map and entertain the fans who pay at the turnstile."
Micky Collins said "He hasn't come to us for money. I know he was offered money to play for seven or eight clubs. Fair play to the kid. He just wants to knuckle down and enjoy his football again, which he certainly hasn't done for the last season or so."
Adam went on to score 17 goals for the Deres in all competitions during 2012/13 as they won the Kent League and Kent League Cup double and his tally included a hat-trick in a 7-1 home win over Greenwich on 30.4.13 plus a goal in the Kent League Cup Final as the Deres beat Corinthian 4-1.
In June 2013 Adam signed for Leatherhead of the Isthmian League Division 1 South.
