Left-footed winger who progressed through Margate's youth ranks. Aaron played for the club's Under-18's during the 2006/07 season and then moved up to the reserves for 2007/08.
On 11.12.07 he made his first team debut wearing the number 11 shirt in a 2-1 win over Welling in a Kent Senior Cup tie played at Hartsdown Park and Aaron's next outing from the bench came in a 5-1 defeat at Chelmsford in the Isthmian League Premier Division on 22.12.07. The Isle of Thanet Gazette said he "left (Lee) Protheroe for dead a couple of times" and added that Aaron looked "to have a bright future in the game".
Over the next few weeks he was a regular in Margate's matchday squad and after starting in a 1-1 home draw with Ramsgate on 26.12.07 Aaron featured in six of the next seven matches, five times as a substitute. The Thanet Times said he had "a good game" after starting in a 2-1 win over Ashford (Middlesex) on 5.1.08 but after coming on as a sub in a 3-2 defeat at Tonbridge on 9.2.08 Aaron only made one further substitute appearance in the next ten matches.
Over a month after his last senior outing Aaron came on in a remarkable 5-4 win over Heybridge at Hartsdown Park on 5.4.08 and after making one more sub appearance he started Margate's last game of the season - a 1-0 win at Harrow on 26.4.08. Caretaker player-manager Steve McKimm told the Thanet Times "Aaron Quain was exciting going forward and he even did the dirty stuff coming back to defend." He finished the 2007/08 campaign having made 13 appearances (nine as sub) without scoring.
In June 2008 Aaron was given a contract for the 2008/09 season and thus became new manager Barry Ashby's first signing. Aaron played in most of Margate's friendlies and then made his first competitive appearance of the new campaign as a substitute in a 2-1 defeat at Carshalton in the Isthmian League Premier Division on 16.8.08. After one more outing from the bench Aaron started for the first time in a 4-0 defeat against Canvey Island at Hartsdown Park on 23.8.08 and then featured as a substitute in five consecutive matches. In its report on a 2-1 home win over Heybridge on 30.8.08 the Thanet Times said he looked "more like a winger than ever before" after coming on.
On 13.9.08 Aaron returned to the number 11 shirt as Margate lost 5-1 at Worthing in the FA Cup and after missing the next game altogether he made six sub appearances in the next seven matches during a spell when he was troubled by a foot injury. On 1.11.08 he produced what the Thanet Times dubbed "the miss of the season" after coming on in game at Billericay. The paper described Aaron as "smashing the ball against the post from two yards out, when all he needed to do was help it over the line" with three minutes left and Margate lost the match 3-2.
On 8.11.08 Aaron made his first start for almost two months in a 2-0 defeat at Horsham and he then wore the number 11 shirt in the next seven matches. The Thanet Times' report on a 3-2 defeat against Harrow at Hartsdown Park on 15.11.08 said Aaron "showed glimpses of being a genuine winger in the second period" and on 6.12.08 he scored his first goal for Margate in a 2-2 draw with visitors Carshalton. The Thanet Times said it was "a cracker" as Aaron's 25-yard effort flew into the top corner.
He found himself back on the subs bench for Margate's next game - against Harlow at Hartsdown Park on 20.12.08 - but Aaron came on after only 20 minutes and ended up being sent off. He initially picked up a booking after putting his head into the face of an opponent and the Isle of Thanet Gazette said he was "lucky to get away with a yellow". Aaron was then cautioned again for what the paper called "an apology for a mistimed tackle" and assistant manager Neville Southall said he'd been "stupid".
Aaron started Margate's next match before serving a one game ban but after making a comeback as a substitute in a 2-0 defeat at Sutton on 13.1.09 he fell out of favour and only featured twice more as a sub in the next five matches. After he'd come on in a 1-1 draw at Hastings on 14.2.09 Aaron missed the next ten games and didn't play in the first team again until 18.4.09 when he featured as a sub in a 2-0 home win over Sutton. Aaron also came on in a 4-1 defeat at Staines on 25.4.09 - the last day of the season - and the Thanet Times praised him for "causing havoc up the left". Margate finished the campaign in the relegation zone of the Isthmian League Premier Division and Aaron scored once from a total of 30 appearances (19 as sub).
He featured in most of Margate's friendlies ahead of the 2009/10 season but in August 2009 Aaron was released and joined Kent League club Faversham. Margate's manager Terry Yorath told the Isle of Thanet Gazette "Some lads can cope with it and others can't. I wish Quainy all the best. He could be a good player but he just needs to settle down, work hard and enjoy his football. Sometimes I look at him and I think he's not enjoying himself but he's still only young and I think he will enjoy his football a lot more at Faversham than he would do here. He's capable of doing anything but it's up to him. Now there's a chance for him to play far more first-team football."
As things turned out Aaron only spent a few weeks with Faversham and he ended up playing in local amateur football for most of 2009/10.
During the early part of the 2010/11 campaign Aaron continued to turn out in the Thanet Sunday Football League but early in October 2010 he rejoined Margate.
He made his first appearance as a substitute in a 5-2 home defeat against Thamesmead in the Isthmian League Cup on 12.10.10 and after two more outings from the bench Aaron started for the first time when he wore the number 11 shirt in a 2-0 defeat against visitors Bromley in the Kent Senior Cup on 2.11.10. He then came on as a sub in each of Margate's next two matches but after featuring in a 1-1 draw at Tonbridge on 9.11.10 Aaron fell out of favour and towards the end of 2010 he left the club once more.
After another stint in Sunday football Aaron returned to Hartsdown Park for a third spell in April 2011 and on 9.4.11 he was in the starting line-up as Margate lost 3-0 at Hastings. Aaron then started three of the last four Isthmian League Premier Division matches on the left wing to end the season having made a total of 11 appearances (six as sub) without scoring.
In the summer of 2011 he played in most of Margate's friendlies but in August 2011 Aaron left the club again.
He rejoined Faversham and by then they had progressed to the Isthmian League Division 1 South. Aaron soon cemented a place in the Lilywhites' side and in October 2011 manager Ray Turner told the Kentish Football website "I believe Aaron is different class. His performances show that he is happy here and long may that continue." Aaron had scored seven goals from 22 league outings (four as sub) for Faversham when he left the club in January 2012 and started a fourth spell with Margate.
Aaron made his first appearance as a substitute in a 2-0 defeat at Leatherhead in the Isthmian League Premier Division on 31.1.12 and then came off the bench in three of Margate's next four matches. His last outing as a sub came in a 2-1 defeat at Bury on 28.2.12 and that was Aaron's final game for Margate as he was released at the start of March 2012.
He then joined Ramsgate and scored twice from nine Division 1 South appearances (one as sub) during the remainder of the 2011/12 campaign. Aaron stayed with the Rams for the start of 2012/13 but after only making one sub appearance he was released early in September 2012.
After leaving Ramsgate he signed for Kent County League Division 1 club Milton & Fulston.
In July 2013 Aaron signed for Isthmian League Division 1 South outfit Merstham.
